Formed in May of 2000, Stephen Doctor (Guitars and Programming) and David Menchaca (Drums and/or Percussion) decided to pool their talents together to form a cohesive musical blending of Latin Jazz with Smooth Jazz as well as a measure of R&B stylings.
Additional musicians are available for client needs and preference, these include Robin Smith (Keyboards), Onel Jimenez (Saxophone), Adolph Baez (Drums and/or Percussion), Billy Ray Sheppard (Saxophone), Daryl Brogdan (Keyboards), Jerrold Feigenbaum (Trumpet), Al Gomez (Trumpet), Rick Zavala (Drums/Percussion), Gabe Herrera (Percussion), Michael Wong (Drums), Virdrick Pettit (Saxophone) and many other talented Professional players. To date La Bella has performed continuously every week at numerous events within the Public and Private levels as well as received much outstanding praise from it's ever expanding base of loyal listeners and fans. La Bella performs weekly at Rosarios as well as Pappadeaux's.
La Bella is available for Weddings, Anniversaries, Graduations, Concert Headliner, Concert Opener, Corporate Business Events, Restaurants, Contemporary Clubs, Private Parties, just to name a few.
We regularly receive Radio Airplay on 101.9 FM, KQXT in San Antonio, a Clear Channel Radio Station that features Jazz on Saturday evenings & Sunday mornings with host David Munoz. In addition a we are featured in a subscription music licensing service covering various business throughout the world under various Film & TV deals. Also, on 90.1 FM, KSYM Radio in San Antonio. Lastly our music can be heard throughout the SW as well as Latin America, North America, the Bahamas, Europe and beyond.
We have garnered a vast amount of popular appreciation for our style of musical Performance and Studio sensibilities. It is for this reason that we have expanded our ever growing base of listeners to include an international and national list of people who enjoy relaxing to our music whether at home, in the office, or while driving. Licensing credits on VH1 & MTV, MTV Home Video, Fuel Network.
About Steve Doctor
With over 20 years of recording music, producing artists, and performing, Steve Doctor, a music industry veteran, has been instrumental in the license and distribution of musical cues in multi-genres, including, Hip Hop, Rock, Smooth Jazz, World Beats, Urban Soundscapes, Ambient Dub, Nouveau Flamenco, and many more cutting edge styles.
Steve has is the primary recording artist for Rat Cheer Music Publishing, an acclaimed Music Production Factory for Film & TV. Steve’s recording career spans over 20 years and literally over 1000's of productions musical cues licensed and sold both Nationally and Internationally, with many productions licensed on major Film and Television projects and series.
Stephen is currently endorsed by the Sony Media Software division and by Sam Ash Music. An extensive use of the Sony Acid Pro software, as well as Sound Forge & Vegas Video has led to an outstanding use of musical cues for Film & TV represented by the Offices of Pump Audio (NYC) and Position Music (LA). Much of Stephen''s musical cues can be heard on MTV, VH1, ABC, Discovery, Paramount Pictures, FOX, The The Food Network, Fuel Network, Nickelodeon, The Biography Channel, Animal Planet, Syndication, HG TV, The Travel Channel, National Geographic, Fit TV, Nick 2, YES, A&E, and many dozens more.
Stephen writes, records, arranges, produces, and performs from the South Texas area.
