After 20 years of recording music, producing artists, and performing, DOC Recording Studio was created by Steve Doctor, a music industry veteran.
Steve has been CEO, Executive Producer and primary recording artist for Rat Cheer Music Publishing, an acclaimed Music Production Factory for Film & TV. Steve’s recording carrer spans over 20 years and over 1000's of productions licensed and sold both Nationally and Internationally, with many productions licensed on major Film and Television projects and series.
For your upcoming project, DOC Recording Studio offers some of the most incredible talent in the United States such as engineer/producer Robin Smith (Adjunct Professor of Music), percussionist/composer's David Menchaca (BPM Records), Rick Zavala (Drums, Percussion), Eric Casillas (Lugo Recording Artist), and Adolph Baez of whom are all noted for their dynamic rhythmic stylings on numerous recordings and are in demand studio players, also a multitude of brass artists such as Al Gomez on Trumpet, wind artists like Onel Jimenez on Sax and Larry Filippone on Flute as well as string and vocal talent to make your project the best it can be. Whether you simply need a great room with a quality engineer who can professionally record and edit your songs or, for more elaborate projects, an arranger, orchestrator and/or producer to help shape your sound to what’s current in the 21st century, we have the talent to satisfy your needs.
DOC Recording Studio will also provide a variety of premium studio musicians and voice-over talent who can elevate your song or project to the next level. These musicians can be hired individually or as ensembles; either hourly or in block segments.
We also offer guidance on short-run or large-run CD duplication with one to four label printing as well as competitive packaged pricing for both graphic design and finished manufactured product.

After spending over countless hours in studios all around, I realized that recording music doesn’t have to be a difficult and disheartening process. In fact it should be a fulfilling experience… one that musicians dream of. When we envisioned DOC Recording Studio in 2001, we saw a place that would inspire both professional and amateur musicians. It was a simple recipe. First, start with an environment that’s comfortable and uncluttered. Second, mix in the ultimate digital recording system – one that allows artists to record and then edit their music any way they like, as fast as they like. Third, build the facility that's minutes from just about anywhere in the San Antonio Metro Area, and just minutes from the 410/IH10 interchange. So after years of being available soley to private commercial projects, DOC Recording Studio is now available to the public! Launched in January 2005, the studio has opened its doors to a variety of musicians, labels and production houses with unparalleled success and industry applause. Unfortunately, many studios are rundown, older facilities with questionable ambience, as well as providing antiquated technology - neither of which is conducive to 21st century artists.
